Who is Dr. Tabitha Marsh
Dr. Tabitha is a Holistic Counselor and Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese medicine with over 30 years of experience in mind-body health practices. She specializes in mental health issues that affect the body as well as the mind such as stress, anxiety, panic, insomnia, PTSD, high sensitivity, ADHD, as well as chronic illness & pain. She also works with people undergoing major life changes, grief and loss, being one's authentic self, creative blocks and spiritual challenges/exploration.
People who want a natural, integrative approach are an especially good fit along with those trying to master the gifts of sensitivity, neurodivergence and high empathy. What is Dr. Tabitha's holistic approach?
As a counselor, Dr. Tabitha combines the cutting edge of somatic, mind-body and integrative approaches that create real-life change along with tools that address the deeper Self and parts that may be in unconscious awareness such as symbols/archetypes, creative therapies and dreamwork. After each session, she offers the option to use acupuncture to help integrate the themes of the session and reset the nervous system so you leave feeling more balanced and relaxed.
What is holistic counseling?
Holistic counseling is a natural, integrative approach that attempts to get to the root of mind-body imbalances by understanding how all our parts work together and addressing them directly. Although talk is used (which helps the logical brain), holistic therapy makes a point to address the part of the brain where the bulk of trauma, old programming and unconscious behavior originates. In this way, it helps you to not just understand or manage your life challenges but actually transform your relationship with them.
To heal the parts of the brain where trauma and stress live, it is important to speak a "language" that these parts understand so that they can integrate and heal. This might include things like mindfulness, meditative movement, expressive arts, image, or other exercises that help reset the neurobiology of the brain like tapping, somatic EMDR and IFS "parts work." It also includes things like imagination, creativity, symbols/archetypes, and dreamwork that help access the unconscious and wise parts of the self.
